Irondale Youth Football Association

Mission Statement

The IYFA is a community driven, private non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a quality football program for student athletes grades 3 through 8 in the Irondale school area without tryouts, without regard to ability, and at a cost affordable to all who wish to participate.

The program will teach the fundamentals of full contact football while emphasizing team building, sportsmanship, integrity, athleticism and having fun. (In situations where participation fees would pose a hardship, the IYFA offers scholarships to provide equal opportunity for all youth in our community.)

Guiding Principles

1. Provide a positive introduction to organized tackle football
2. Teach basic tackle football skills and rules in a safe and fun environment
3. Build participants’ social and athletic skills such as teamwork, cooperation, communication, integrity and discipline through positive role modeling and interactions
4. Teach the value of proper physical conditioning
