Thanks for visiting our new website
We are planning a fun evening from 4 - 7 p.m. for parents that will be a benefit for IYFA. Watch for more details in the next few weeks, but mark your calendar now so you don't miss it!
The Mounds View Police Department is hosting a Punt, Pass and Kick contest at Edgewood on Saturday, September 19. Registration starts at 2:30. See more information on the Mounds View Police Facebook page.
All IYFA players and families are encouraged to cheer on the Irondale high school football team. Click here for the schedule. Go Knights!!
We are extending the deadline for selling Heggies pizzas - forms and money will be collected on Monday, August 17. Cari Johnson will stop at Irondale and then Edgewood at the beginning of practices on that night, then Highview at the end of practice.
Please note that the order form had an error: there is NO SOUTHWESTERN pizza available for sale. Please remove it from your form, and we apologize for any inconvenience it causes for orders already taken (another selection will be necessary for any orders of the Southwesten pizza). The delivery date for the pizzas is still being determined.
The Heggies order form can be downloaded here.
Stay tuned for exact locations for practices that start on Monday, August 10. Practices will be from 6 - 8 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Many thanks to all of you who contribute to a great start to the 2015 season: Coach Fuller and the Irondale football coaching staff, IYFA coaches, parents, volunteers and players. Thanks for taking part, and best wishes as you start the new season!
The kickoff to the 2015 season will be the annual camp at Irondale high school! Coach Ben Fuller and his staff will work with all registered players for the fall 2015 season. Players check in at 6:15 p.m. on August 3, 4 and 5. Camp concludes at 8:00 each night. No pads or helmets needed for camp -- tennis shoes or cleats, shorts and t-shirts are fine. Send along a water bottle for your player, too.
Please note: The parent meeting previously scheduled for Monday night has been moved to Tuesday night to accommodate a parent meeting at Highview on Monday night. We apologize for any confusion.
NEW! On Tuesday night, August 4, while the players are at camp, we will have a meeting with parents. Please plan to attend to get information about the football season.
Also on Tuesday night, Coach Ben Fuller invites the IYFA coaches to join for a coaching clinic in the IHS athletic rooms. The clinic will run from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. that night.
Wednesday wraps up the camp with hot dogs for everyone after camp! Plan to buy your player some new Irondale football socks -- a limited supply will be available that night, but more can be ordered. Proceeds will benefit IYFA.
If you would like to inquire about a wait list, please contact Mark Strong.
Please see the document below which gives details for a meeting that Coach Fuller is hosting for incoming 9th grade players on Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Irondale auditorium.
As you enjoy winter and spring sports, the IYFA board is working closely with Coach Ben Fuller to make improvements to the youth program, so that skills developed in Irondale youth football will build to strong Irondale high school players. Watch for spring opportunities to start thinking about football. Registration for the fall 2015 season will open in April 2015.
...so order your Irondale cold-weather attire now to get it in time for the cooler weather. Enjoy FREE SHIPPING if you order before October 2nd. The items you'll purchase on the website will benefit IYFA, and they make great Christmas gifts, too!
Many thanks to the IYFA families and friends who had lunch and took part in the raffle at El Loro on Sunday, September 28. As in the past, it was a fun event for families and players to spend time together over a good meal. A special thank you to the following businesses that made contributions to the raffle: O'Halloran Murphy, J.J. Orion, Dairy Queen (Silver Lake Road), and the makers of Flickems Football. A special thank you to El Loro for hosting the event. Be sure to consider these generous contributors for any future needs.
We hope you can join us next year!

IYFA is always looking for help. If you are willing to help in any way please contact IYFA President, Mark Strong. We will need to transition many board positions following this year as current board members players are moving to high school.
